
Sales Assistant

About the Position
Do you love NPR, PBS and other public media?
We are seeking an organized, energetic, and customer-focused Sales Assistant to support a public television and radio sales representative in servicing relationships with station management, businesses, nonprofits, agencies, and community organizations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized, and helping a variety of organizations achieve their marketing goals while supporting the mission of public media.
The Sales Assistant will play an important role in keeping the sales operation running smoothly—from preparing proposals to coordinating campaigns, maintaining client information, following up with prospects, and ensuring that underwriters receive excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Support

Assist the sales representative with day-to-day sales activities and client communications.

Acquire scripts, visuals, digital elements, etc. from sponsors.

Track renewals and reach out to current clients about renewing.

Track proposals, contracts, follow-ups, and sales opportunities.

Prepare sales proposals, sponsorship packages, and correspondence.

Maintain accurate client, prospect, and campaign information in the station's CRM and other systems.

Help prepare materials for client meetings and sales presentations.

Follow up with prospects and existing clients as directed by the sales representative.

Client & Campaign Support

Serve as a professional and responsive first point of contact for stations and clients.

Coordinate underwriting schedules across television, radio, digital, email, and other station platforms.

Collect and organize creative materials and campaign information.

Coordinate with programming, traffic, marketing, digital, and other station departments to ensure campaigns are executed accurately and on schedule.

Monitor campaign deliverables and communicate any issues to the appropriate staff.

Assist with post-campaign reporting and client follow-up.
Administrative Support

Prepare contracts, reports, correspondence, and other sales documentation.

Maintain organized electronic files and client records.

Help manage sales calendars, meetings, deadlines, and follow-up activities.

Perform other administrative and sales-support duties as needed.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable communicating with businesses and professionals. You must be a self-starter. You should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change and multiple projects may be moving simultaneously. Familiarity with public media is a real plus.
Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar productivity tools.

Comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and email.

Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
Preferred but not required:

Previous experience in sales, advertising, marketing, media, customer service, or an administrative support role, particularly within public media.

Experience with a CRM or sales-management system.

Familiarity with television, radio, digital advertising, email marketing, or sponsorship sales.

Experience creating presentations or proposals.

A deep love for public media.
